Chaine des Rotisseurs is the oldest gourmet association in the world, and at the same time the largest and most famous association of such kind, which has existed since 1248. In 1610, by a royal decree, Louis XIII awarded first association of chefs in the world, a document that is still used today. Developing various branches the Chaine de Rotisseurs has expanded to five continents and to 80 states with more than 25,000 members. Impressive number of more than 7000 professionals cover all gastronomic activities (restaurateurs, winemakers, hoteliers). The mission of the association is to develop culinary, oenology, cooking and dining culture, and the association’s statute states that the task of each member is to promote friendly dialogue and nurture hospitality.
