The Kutjevo Winery achieved outstanding success at the 28th edition of the prestigious Latin American wine competition, the 28th CATAD’OR WORLD WINE AWARDS. The Kutjevo Winery, which has been nurturing a tradition and passion for producing top-quality wines for decades, won several high accolades, reaffirming its excellence and quality.
The Graševina Ice Wine 2018 stood atop the podium, winning the prestigious Great Gold Medal, which is yet another confirmation of this unique wine’s exceptional quality. Additionally, Maximo Nero 2019, Graševina Vinkomir 2022, Graševina De Gotho 2020, and Premium Graševina 2022 also earned high honors in the form of gold medals.
Catad’Or World Wine Awards, the most important international wine competition in Latin America, took place in the capital of Chile, the fourth-largest wine exporter in the world. This event represents the pinnacle of quality in the evaluation of wines and alcoholic beverages, and the awards obtained carry significant importance both among distribution channels and discerning consumers, especially in wine markets such as China and Brazil.
Croatian winemakers had already made a mark in this competition last year, winning a series of gold medals, and the collaboration between the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Chile and the Catad‘Or license holders contributed to the success of Croatian wines in this exceptional competition. This year, Croatia was chosen as the partner country, further confirming the reputation and quality of Croatian wines on the global stage.
The judging panel consisted of 70 international experts, including recognized sommeliers, representatives of specialized wine magazines, and other wine masters. Awards were granted based on strict criteria, and wines received recognition based on reference points. A score of 93 or more points was required for the Great Gold Medal, 89 to 92.9 points for the Gold Medal, and 85 to 88.9 points for the Silver Medal. With the attainment of these prestigious accolades, the Kutjevo Winery continues to build its reputation among the world’s finest wines.
