Kutjevo Winery recently achieved great success by winning the award for the best rosé. This prestigious award was presented as part of the celebration of the 12th anniversary of the WOW association (Women on Wine), which organized a ceremonial annual wine awards presentation. The members of the WOW association, composed of wine experts, journalists, sommeliers, consultants, oenologists, and wine and table culture enthusiasts, celebrated their anniversary with the traditional annual awards ceremony.
The process of selecting the best wines goes through three levels of filters. First, a reputable Croatian sommelier compiles a pre-selection list of wines, choosing the best, most interesting, and most successful ones in five categories: sparkling, white, rosé, red, and dessert wines. After that, more than 200 members of the WOW association, including reputable wine and gastronomy journalists, sommeliers, consultants, oenologists, and owners of wine shops and restaurants, have the opportunity to vote for their favorites.
In the third and final stage, the decision is made by three wine experts who taste the wines blindly. This time, the final judging panel consisted of Egle Katunar, sales and marketing manager of the Ivan Katunar Wine House in Vrbnik on the island of Krk; Lucija Matijević, a third-level sommelier and lecturer at the Croatian Sommelier Club (HSK); and wine expert Jana Košćec.
Ultimately, the award for the best rosé was won by the Kutjevo Winery with their Rosé Premium wine. Sanja Muzaferija, the founder and director of the “Pink Day Zagreb” rosé wine festival, presented the award, while Vlasta Pirnat, a member of the WOW association and the designer of the Rosé Premium label, also attended the ceremony. This success further highlights the high quality of the wines produced by Kutjevo Winery.
