As part of this year’s Graševina Festival, a traditional evaluation of wines produced from the Graševina grape variety was held in mid-May. The expert evaluation committee was represented by oenologists, caterers, sommelier, scientists and experts from different fields closely connected to wine and eno-gastronomy. 115 samples were received for evaluation, of which 8 earned champion gold, 59 were gold, 40 samples received silver and seven received bronze. Samples came from all parts of Croatia where this valued variety of wine is grown, which is also the most represented variety in Croatia, as it accounts for 25% of the total wine produced quantities.
Kutjevo winery excelled in the judging and won 3 championship titles for young, dry, Graševina – High-quality graševina vintage 2020, a champion title for predicate wine – Graševina ice wine Hrnjevac from 2018 and for the best sparkling wine from graševina variety – Maximo brut. Kutjevo also won two gold medals for ice harvests and 8 gold medals for high-quality selections of Graševina in various categories.
